A Day At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

The boys earned some tickets for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom during school.  The expiration date was quickly coming upon us so we decided to go there for our end of the summer family thing.  We usually go camping but with my babysitting schedule and the lack of a schedule for Scott we probably wouldn't have been able to make it work before school started.  So we took off on Friday the 12th and headed down to Vallejo.

It was only an hour and 20 minute drive, not too bad.  No kids asking 'How much longer' or "Are we there yet?'
Waiting in line for one of the rides.  Seth cracked me up with his sayings for the rides.  He'd say stuff like 'sit back and enjoy the ride' 'this is going to be so awesome' 'that was scary, can we do it again' 'um that one wasn't so great'  He was such a ham.  Since it was Cokes birthday they had a blown up igloo.  You could go inside to cool off in below 50 degree temp and they served a glass of Coke.  We heard that if you danced you got a free shirt.  When Seth heard that he wanted to go right then.  While standing in line the boys were dancing to the music coming from inside the igloo.  Two guys that worked for Coke saw the boys dancing and laughed.  Seth looked at them and said 'I can do better'  They really got a kick out of that.  That kid.  Unfortunately they were out of shirts when we got in there.  But it was still nice to go in and cool off.
Kalie and Seth.  Third swing.  Kalie is waving.

One thing about this place is it has a variety of things to do for kids of all ages.  Rides for both older and younger and lots of animals.  Like a zoo and amusement park all in one big place.  Everything is spread out too so the family doesn't have to be split up if you have teenagers and young kids.

The boys wanted a kiddy ride :)

Some butterflies from the butterfly habitat
 These Koi were HUGE!

I was trying to get the butterflies flying over their heads but they were to fast for me.

On a teacup style ride.  Scott chickened out.  He can't handle them very well.

This dolphin was playing ball with himself

A little dance time with Tweety, Bugs and Sylvester

After the dancing we went out to the car for lunch.  My camera was dead so I didn't get any more pics with it.  Scott got some on his phone so I'll have to get them and put them on here.
